GROOVALOOS ARE THE 1ST EVER SUPERSTARS OF DANCE!!!

Congratulations to the Groovaloos who won the 1st ever Superstars of Dance on Monday night.

We are so proud and excited that our Summer in L.A. faculty was on Team U.S.A and took home the trophy and are the best in the world.

This is exciting for the dancers who have taken part in Summer in L.A. as annually we work with The Groovaloos.

This is much more exciting now for all of you new dancers who will be joining us for your 1st time as the Groovaloos have proven to the world that they are the best by being named Superstars of Dance and now you will have the chance to work with our all star faculty.

The Vegas Convention

Join us for The Vegas Convention after Summer in LA The Hip Hop Intensive wraps up in Vegas.

August 3 and 4, 2009 at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Vegas.

Classes in different styles of Jazz including Classic Jazz, Street Jazz and Latin Jazz; Hip Hop, Modern, Contemporary, Krump and more...

Workshops also feature industry chats, Q & A's, autograph signing sessions and photo taking opportunities.

Faculty will be announced shortly and detailed info will be available.

On August 2, join us for the finals of the World Hip Hop Championships produced by America's Best Dance Crew at Planet Hollywood at 7:30 pm

On August 3, join us for Cirque Du Soleil's Mystere at Treasure Island at 7 pm

Dance on TV is getting exciting and getting us all excited for Be Discovered's upcoming Summer in L.A.

Recently on the Ellen Degeneres show. The Groovaloos performed and were a huge hit.
On faculty with us for Summer in L.A. is The Groovaloos founder Bradley "Shooz" Rapier who is Canadian but has made a name for himself worldwide. The only female Groovaloos on that show was Christina Benedetti who is also on our faculty for her awesome House class.

The Groovaloos will be going up against the Shaolin Monks tonight Monday January 19 on Superstars of Dance on NBC.


Cycle 3 of America's Best Dance Crew is back. Thursdays on MTV and for Canadian viewers, it is on Much Music on Sundays. Check your listings as it airs a few times over the weekend.

HIP HOP INTENSIVE FACULTY

We have an all star faculty this year.

In addition to the current online Faculty, we have some great new additions.

From the 2008 faculty, we have many of the Beat Freaks back again this year. If you have not heard of this all female crew, you will later this week when America's Best Dance Crew premieres. Maryss from Paris, Keeley Lock 'n'key, Lindsey "Outthere" B and Rino are part of our faculty and a part of this all star crew.

JJ Villar and Mihran who were on faculty in 2008 will also be back. Their pics and bios will be online soon.

New this year we have some amazing Hip Hop choreographers who all have their own style and flavour.

Choreographers include Kenny Wormald, Gigi Torres, Misha Gabriel, David Moore, Chuck Maldonado and many more.

Conditioning is also so important for dancers and we will also be adding this to this years program.

DANCE INTENSIVE FACULTY

We have an all star faculty this year.

In addition to the current online Faculty, we have some great new additions.

Mia Michaels can't confirm yet but we will keep trying her until she can.

We have new faculty for Ballet so in addition to Nancy Paradis, we also have Francisco Gella, you may have heard about him at Coastal Dance Rage.

In addition to Greg Poland, we have Chloe Arnold for Tap.

In addition to Shane Sparks for Hip Hop, we have many options as Hip Hop is huge in L.A. We have Kenny Wormald who also teaches Tap as well as Misha Gabriel.

In 2008 we had Salsa and for this year, we will also have more salsa and other new dance styles. The dancers will help select from options including Bollywood which is becoming huge in the industry. Bollywood films book a lot of dancers so it's great to be versatile. Ballroom is also an option as it has become quite popular on shows like So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing with the Stars.

JJ Villar was a hit at the 2008 Summer in L.A. He was one of the favorite choreographers and he teaches so many different styles so well including Salsa, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Jazz, Street Jazz and so much more. We are excited to have him back on board this year. His Improv exercises and industry advice is also priceless.

In addition, we are considering choreographers for Contemporary and Modern from Hysterica Dance Company and LA Contemporary Dance Company.

Conditioning is also so important for dancers and we will also be adding this to this years program.

Be Discovered is back from New York from its very successful Broadway Bound! The New York City Winter Intensive.

What a great time it was for all the dancers from Canada, the US and even Cypress.
