The 2011 Broadway Bound! The NYC Winter Intensive was a great success!

Dancers from Australia, Canada and the US experienced a magical week of dance, the industry,
Broadway, new friends and so much fun.

Thank you to everyone for making it a great success!!
We couldn't have done it without you.

Thank you to God and mother nature who gave us incredible weather.
After the blizzard we had the year before, we were deserving of the
awesomeness we experienced.

Dancer Will Thomas Dancing with Rihanna

Congrats to Will on his TV debut!!!

Earlier tonight, we watched the X-Factor where our client and friend Will Thomas danced with Rihanna.

In 2008, Will Thomas from Michigan attended our 2 week Summer in LA Extended Intensive program.

Just 6 months later, he joined us in NY for our Broadway Bound! The NYC Winter Intensive.
Since day 1, we knew this kid had what it would take to make it in the industry.

In 2009, Will couldn't get enough of LA and our Summer in LA program and he took part in the Summer in LA Dance Intensive. That year, we saw how much he had grown as a person and dancer and we named him our 2009 Summer in LA Rising Star!

In 2010, Will was back again and a part of our Summer in LA Performance Intensive which had him dancing at the world famous Carnival Choreographer's Ball. That year, he was once again selected as our Rising Star. The prize pack he got included VIP tickets to see Lady Gaga in Toronto and dinner with Be Discovered.

A couple of months ago, Will left Michigan and relocated to LA to pursue his dance career. He was immediately signed by an agency and is living his dreams!

Mihran has toured the world dancing for today's hottest artists including Britney Spears, Madonna, Ricky Martin, Victoria Justice and the Black Eyed Peas, to just name a few. You can see him on their tours, concerts and music videos.

Mihran recently choreographed Selena Gomez’s world tour. He has also danced on the hit TV show Glee and in the movies You Got Served and 17 Again. Chris Erk has been working professionally as a performer, teacher, and choreographer since the age of 15. Currently based in New York City, Chris has a successful career dancing with some of the most recognized entertainers in the Performing Arts, and is choreographing productions for some of the worlds largest corporations.

His love for teaching Tap dance has thrived, and his fresh approach is getting an overwhelming International response. There is always something new going on with Chris and now he is coming to Canada.

Chris toured with the international production of Tap Dogs for 5 years. He has worked on Gil Stroming's Break the Floor, Bounce, and Jump Events as a teacher, judge, and Creative Coordinator. Chris also has been a performer, and choreographer for Tee & Jam Productions for the past 6 years, with whom he has worked on over 100 Corporate Sponsored functions worldwide.

He teaches at New York's top dance studios including Broadway Dance Center, Steps on Broadway, and is a member of Jared Grimes' company, TADAH.

The intensive also includes meet and greets with the choreographers, autograph signing sessions, photo taking opportunities and scholarship give-a-ways. During lunch, watch Mihran's recent choreography for Be Discovered's Summer in L.A. on the big screen alongside these stars.

Also perform the choreography learned in the informal finale showcase that wraps up the intensive. As our workshops are closed to spectators, this will be the only time that observers will be permitted.

For those interested in being considered for auditions, bookings or Be Discovered events or trips including Carnival Choreographer's Ball - Canada coming to Toronto July 2012, scouts will be in attendance at the workshops and at the showcase. Our scouting services are optional and not mandatory as many who join us at the workshops come out to dance and just have fun.

What a summer we've had so far!!!

We have had dancers from across Canada and the US dance in Disneyland with the Disney/Juniors Intensive; they've shot a music video and saw Snoop Dogg live on So You Think You Can Dance with the Super Star Intensive and they've danced in Vegas with the Vegas Intensive.

Recently there were auditions for a department store project and we submitted tons of dancers and specialty kids and teens for it.

About 26 dancers got the audition, about 6 were called back.

The last month or so has been super busy with auditions and bookings going on in and around the Toronto area.

Congrats to Summer in LA dancer Amber Minchella and Eva Rocca for booking the Paul Mitchell Niagara Falls show.

They were selected from many models who attended the auditions and had their hair done and styled and then showcased at the hair show.

Cristine Prosperi, one of our 2010 Broadway Bound dancers has just signed on to the cast of Degrassi.

Crstine, from Toronto will be playing Imogen Moreno.

Congrats to Cristine on landing this awesome role.

She is our 2nd client to land a Degrassi role. Dayo Ade played BLT on the original Degrassi many years ago.

Since returning from NY just a few months back, Cristine also booked another role on the Family channel's Really Me.

The Toronto Lady Gaga concert had many excited fans in attendance last night as she performed for a sold out crowd.

2 of our Summer in LA dancers were in attendance as VIP's after Will Thomas from Michigan, was named 2010 Summer in LA Rising Star. This is the 2nd year in a row that Will has been selected for this prize.

This year, Be Discovered's prize pack included 2 amazing seats to this show. Will chose Axel Villamil from Cambridge, Ontario to join him. They met a few years ago during Summer in LA and had the chance to perform together last summer, as they both danced in our Carnival number.

Will has been a part of Summer in LA 4 times and he also attended our Broadway Bound! The NYC Winter Intensive. Axel has been a part of Summer in LA twice and also attended our Gigi Torres workshops in Ontario.

Both talented young men are also featured in our Summer in LA promo shot in the summer of 2010. Near the end of the video, you see them dancing in the Hollywood flash mobs and in the ending photo shoot, they are the 2 dancers featured.

Annually, the program gets better and better. Many dancers return year after year. In 2010, Maddie Dawson from Ontario attended both the Dance Intensive and the Performance Intensive. In 2009, she also attended the Dance Intensive as well as our NY intensive Broadway Bound!

Victoria Wade from Washington state attended the Extended Intensive which was the Dance Intensive and the Hip Hop Intensive and she also attended the Performance Intensive. In 2009, she attended the Dance Intensive and just like Maddie, also joined us in N.Y.

2010 also saw many dancers attend Summer in L.A. who had previously attended including: Kora Lee Bruno, Courtney Flores, Will Thomas, Melissa Kelly, Kiana Beddow, Angelica Migliazza, Rachael Layton and Axel Villamil.

This year, we have a new, all star faculty as well as a few of our favourite choreographers are back.

Summer in L.A. - The greatest summer of my life!

Time really flies when you're having fun and what an exciting summer we had this year.

Thank you to everyone who made it a success and a special thank you to Alex. You do so much and many times are not thanked due to the hustle and bustle of all that goes on.

Sorry for not staying in touch but there was so much happening that it was not possible to post updates here.

The Summer in L.A. site is being updated and we can't wait to share details, photos and videos with you all. Thank you to everyone who made it a success.

This summer was our 1st annual Summer in L.A. Juniors Intensive. Dancers from across Canada and the U.S. had the time of their life dancing down Main Street U.S.A at Disneyland. They also had the chance to perform on the Hollywood Backlot stage. Choreographers, professionals and instructors they worked with include Chantal and Joy Robson, Dayo Ade, Ben Allen, Donyelle Jones, Lindsey B, Mihran and more. Thank you to Cathy Barber for her help with wardrobe malfunctions.

For 2011, the Juniors Intensive will grow to include dancers young at heart and not just Juniors. There were so many adult dancers at Disneyland that we can't wait to share this experience with dancers of all ages.

After the Juniors Intensive, I (Diana) had a few days off and this was perfect as it was my birthday and I had a great time with Alex. The Sheraton Universal Studios hotel gave us tickets to Universal Studios Hollywood and we had so much fun. I loved the Jurassic Park ride and the studio tour including King Kong. I think I liked the tour more as it was all about our industry.

The next day we attended an amazing networking party with NBC and Universal execs at the Sheraton. This is the same hotel where we host our Summer in L.A. program. Thank you to everyone at Universal especially Ernesto, Esther, Berys and Caesar. We will be back next year, you do so much for our group! Made some great contacts and had a fun time. That night, I would have never imagined that my whole plan for my summer would change so quickly and drastically. I had an injury and broke my foot. So much for those new comfy Uggs shoes.

Ladies, beware of platforms as really they are more dangerous than heels. I love my Uggs but I think I will stick to the boots from now on. So, over 2 months later, I am still taking care of that injury. Nonetheless, it was tough but I still had a great summer for the most part.

From the dancers feedback and parents too, this was the best Summer in LA ever!!!

The Dance Intensive hosted dancers from Italy, Canada and the U.S. I had my sister Claudia come in from Colombia to assist me with the program so this was great as I hadn't seen her in a year. Thank you as well to Jane Dawson for working for us last minute. As one of the dancers moms, you really helped tremendously, not just for this program but also the Performance Intensive.

Dancers took classes at the Edge and Debbie Reynolds as well as worked privately with JJ Villar, Lindsey B, Paul Kirkland and many more top professionals. Dancers are featured in a Be Discovered video that we are currently editing. Can't wait to share it with you. It's really special.

The Hip Hop Intensive hosted dancers from Canada and the U.S but was a much smaller program. Dancers traveled to Vegas as well during the intensive where they worked with Napoleon and Tabitha, Shotyme and Boogaloo Sam.

For 2011, we will be changing the Hip Hop program to make it better than ever. Perhaps a 2nd Dance Intensive week as dancers need to be versatile in the industry and this seems to bring in more passionate dancers, fused with some Hip Hop rather than only urban styles.

This year was definately my Summer in L.A. I was in LA for over 2 months. Instead of flying back to Toronto as planned, stayed in L.A a couple of weeks waiting for the Performance Intensive. During this time, got to be in Malibu and Laguna Beach. Did some great planning for future camps in these 2 beautiful beach communities.

Also new this summer was the annual Performance Intensive and dancers from Canada and the U.S. had the chance to perform on the world famous Carnival stage. Wait til you see their performance!

Can't wait til the summer of 2011 but until then, although this summer was challenging and busy, I had a great time and learned many lessons too. That's why things happen in life. It's all about the lessons.

Summer in L.A teaches us so many of those...

Until then... keep on dancing. Wish I could but I am excited that I am now walking on 1 crutch and not sitting in a wheel chair like I did for more of Summer in L.A.!!!

Our 1st Summer in LA program starts in just 1 month! Can't wait. We are so excited as this summer is turning out to be one of the best ever.

We are excited to announce some superb additions to our faculty.

Our Faculty page is currently being revamped and will also feature video of the amazing choreographers you will be working with.

In less than 2 months, the 1st annual Juniors Intensive will be a wrap. Many talented kids from the U.S and Canada will have danced on down Main Street U.S.A and performed at Disneyland.

The Dance Intensive will be underway and exactly 2 months today, the dancers will be on So You Think You Can Dance in the studio audience. This is one of the most exciting outings during this intensive. They will also be learning what it takes to make it in the commercial dance scene.

In just a bit over 2 months is the Hip Hop Intensive and dancers will be getting ready to pop and lock like a dance star. Traveling to Vegas is really cool and watching the best dancers from all over the world compete for the coveted title. This year at Urban Moves, we get to work with Napoleon and Tabitha, some of the hottest choreographers around.

Last but not least, in over 3 months, dancers will be getting ready to make their performance debut at L.A's prestigious Carnival the Choreographer's Ball. 2009 Rising Star will perform in August`s Carnival

2009 Summer in LA Rising Star Will Thomas will be back for the 2010 Summer in LA, but this year, he will be making his L.A. stage debut.

Will performs in LA`s Carnival the Choreographer`s Ball on August 25 at Avalon in Hollywood. Congrats to Will who was selected to showcase at this event.

Be Discovered has been working with Will for a couple of years now. Will joined Be Discovered in Los Angeles in 2008 when he took part in Summer in LA The Extended Intensive which included both the Dance Intensive and the Hip Hop Intensive. Later that year, Will traveled again with Be Discovered for the 2008 Broadway Bound.

In 2009, Will was back for the Dance Intensive. At the agent`s showcase, the agents all remembered him from the year before and told Will that he looked like he fell out of High School Musical and that he will be a star.

Not bad for a young dancer from Michigan who had a concussion during the showcase. Image how much better he would have been if he had been 100% healthy at the time?

August will be his time to shine in front of fellow dancers and the industry`s leading industry decision makers and really show us all what he`s got.

I am so happy that there is an article in yesterday's Toronto Star on Dayo Ade. They have finally noticed all the great work that he is doing in L.A. You may know Dayo from the hit TV Series Degrassi where he played 'BLT' and recently, he was featured on 'Lost'.

This is a photo of me with Dayo, Carmit Bachar (Pussy Cat Dolls) and Alex. This was the day of the professional photo shoot of the Summer in L.A. dancers. Dayo and Carmit were special guest speakers at the industry chat that we had at the shoot. I have known Dayo for about 18 years. At the time I was a partner at a talent agency Distinct Look Agency and was on my way to the office on the bus with my partner. I saw Dayo and I found his look so marketable and I couldn't help but stare at him. As he was getting off the bus, I had my then business partner hand him one of my business cards.

I was thrilled to get a call from Dayo right away as I hadn't even noticed that he was an established actor on the popular TV series Degrassi, which was a hit not just in Canada but all over the world. Good call about giving him the business card.

From the get go, Dayo and I got a long really well and I not only became his agent, but we became best friends. I would even travel with Dayo to his auditions and we even went to NYC to hit the pavement to try to get him some work in the states.

He also brought a lot of love and smiles to my family and to my friends.

In Toronto, I booked Dayo on countless TV series, films and commercials including Clement Virgo's Rude, Kids in the Hall and McDonald's, to just name a few.

In L.A., Dayo has done very well for himself. The media has missed many great stories on Dayo. Dayo is in the movie Phat Girlz along with Golden Globe winner Mo'Nique and also alongside fellow Canadian Pamela Anderson on VIP. He has also worked with Jennifer Garner on Alias and other credits include Star Trek, Las Vegas, Scrubs and Girlfriends, to just name a few.

Many great experiences that I have had in L.A. both personally and professionally would have not been possible without Dayo.

Dayo got Alex and I into the exclusive Chateau Marmont where we had the pleasure of meeting John Travolta, Josh Harnett and Mos Def and seeing many stars including Jessica Simpson, Colin Farell, Michelle Rodriguez, Val Kilmer and many, many more stars.

Dayo invited us to watch him play hockey in the O.C. where we had the opportunity to meet with another fellow Canadian Keanu Reeves who was also on his team and owned it.

Dayo also invited us on the set of Phat Girlz in Palm Springs where we met many of the actors in the film including Mo'Nique. On the set of Alias, we met Jennifer Garner and told her about Summer in L.A. She told me that she used to dance in her home town and thought Summer in L.A. was really cool.

Professionally, Dayo assisted at a couple of our Summer in L.A. programs and touched the lives of many of the dancers within the program. He was inspirational and a role model for those aspiring performers. He is a success story as he is living his dream.

During one of our programs, he was able to get the dancers into Christina Aguilera's auditions that were taking place at Millennium Dance Complex, while the dancers were there taking classes. Another year, he arranged a mock audition class and chat with Beyonce dancer Shirleen Quigley.

He got the dancers in to another exclusive lounge The Stone Rose at the Sofitel hotel in Beverly Hills, owned by Cindy Crawford's husband Rande Gerber. There he had the dancers treated like VIPS, gave them a tour of the hotel and got the dancers some great snacks and treats.

In 2007, one of the Summer in L.A. dancers was scouted by Marques Houston at a class at Millennium where he spotted her dancing. As a result, an audition was scheduled for her to meet Marques again along with You Got Served director Chris Stokes. I had to travel across town to get Talia to the audition and Dayo took some time off work to be able to drive us there and back.

Dayo is not just a great performer, but he is a really nice guy and a great friend.
I forgot to add this in so just came back on to edit this as this is really important. On a new years day, probably about 18 years ago, I slipped and fell on the steps on a friends house. I wasn't able to drive back home so I called Dayo. He immediately came to pick me up (literally, he had to carry me and I wasn't skinny then, lol) and drove me home. He always took care of me, not like an agent, but like a friend.

I am blessed to have had that chance meeting on that bus that morning and have had the opportunity to meet and work with Dayo for so many years.

Dayo has a great personality and a lot of talent and we send him many blessings to continue him on his path to success... on his path to the Oscars!

Paul Mitchell Hair Show Audition

On Friday evening, models headed out to the auditions for the
Paul Mitchell Hair Show in Toronto.

Congratulations to Anali Pickett Reizvikh for booking the model job! She was selected by the client who was in Toronto from Los Angeles for the gig.

Anali emailed us her photo after hearing about our auditions through Face Book. I immediately felt from looking at her head shot, that she had the model look the client was looking for, so I contacted her with the audition info.

We are glad that Anali took the chance and went to the audition at which time she was booked on the spot. If she had not sent in her photo, she would have missed out on this opportunity.

This is why it's important to take risks and just give everything a shot. Sometimes when we send out calls for auditions, many people want to try but they think that they won't get picked, so they don't even try.

For Anali, it's paid off not just financially but she also now has this experience under her belt.

Thank you to everyone who attended the audition.

This is an annual show so if you missed it this year, you can always give it a shot next year.

Congratulations to Daniel Alwell

Daniel Alwell has made his family, his home country of Ireland, his current home Canada, and Be Discovered very proud after performing last night at the Olympics closing ceremonies.

Congratulations to Daniel!!! Only the best are selected to perform at such shows.
Daniel is the male performer on the right.

In 2008, Daniel won a Be Discovered scholarship at Shine Dance Festival. Later that year, Daniel joined us at our Broadway Bound! The NYC Winter Intensive in New York City where he excelled all week in dance, voice and performance.

Broadway Bound takes place annually during the xmas break of December 26 - January 1.

Daniel is very active in the arts in British Columbia and all his hard work and dedication is paying off.

Imagine, performing in front of the world! What a great honour.

Daniel is definitely a rising star and someone to watch for!

Just like all the athletes, he is now part of history and he performed on the same stage as Alanis Morisette, Avril Lavigne, Michael Buble and Michael J Fox, to just name a few.

Great job Daniel!!!

The Olympics are a wrap!

The Olympics had not only a lot of athletes but also a lot of entertainers who did Canada and the world proud! Thank you Canada for hosting such great games. I am proud to be a Canadian by citizenship and I am also proud that Be Discovered is based in Canada.

The Olympics are over and Canada did a great job!

These were definitely games that shows us that we can overcome adversities.

Even before the Olympics started, Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvili died in a horrific crash in an Olympic training run at Whistler, B.C., just hours before the Games opening ceremony. R.I.P. He died doing what he loved. Although this is sad, it is even more sad for all of us who do not takes risks for that we want. He was doing his thing.

"Here you have a young athlete who lost his life in pursuing his passion. He had a dream to participate in the Olympic Games, he trained hard, and had this fatal accident." International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge had difficulty keeping his composure at a brief, sombre media conference.

His team stayed and competed in his honor. This takes great courage to be able to go forward in such a time.

Then the games were faced with lots of rain and not enough snow, totally unlike any other previous winter games, but just like in show business, the show must go on and on it did.

A couple of days before figure Canadian skater Joannie Rochette was to take to the ice, her mother Therese Rochette died of a massive heart attack. Joannie also stayed in the games and competed in her mom's honour, winning a bronze medal.

What makes these athletes champions is the fact that no matter what, they are able to go on and do so very eloquently.

These stories have touched the world and made these games unforgettable.

Canada ruled in hockey with both the female and male teams beating the U.S. which is really cool as hockey was started in Canada.

And last but not least, it's great that Canada won the most Gold medals ever and the most in these games, for a total of 14 out of 26. Canada was the 3rd most medal winning country, led by U.S.A and Germany.

Competition is great as it does bring the world together and gives each country a new found sense of patriotism. In the end, it's important to remember that we are all the same and regardless what country we represent or come from, we are the world and it's important that we do not allow ego to make us feel that we are better than another nation regardless of these games or really, anything else that makes us feel separate.

I'm also really proud that Colombia participated and even though they did not win any medals, they are winners as they had the chance to be at the games. I am Colombian by birth and ancestry.

Congrats to everyone who went to Vancouver to compete. They are all winners.

Sorry for the absence

It's been almost 2 weeks since our last blog. So sorry for the absence.

Things were hectic before our last minute trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. As competition season is underway, we had a lot to do with putting together scholarships and shipping them out.

We left on February 13 and just got back.

We definitely will host some dance workshops there in the future. What a great place! Not only was the weather amazing, but the people were warm, so much love to give, the food was delicious, the sights spectacular and we can't wait to be back again. The hotel we stayed at is only 6 months old and it's spectacular! www.capellapedregal.com
Wheel and deal with them as they want the business. We got rates reduced by more than 50% and got amazing upgrades and extras included.

We had been to Cabo before for a day during a cruise years ago. We had gone to go see our friend and client Daniel Nalbandian who was dancing on that ship. We had a great time so decided to go back and really explore.

Whales travel from Alaska to have their babies there so you see them playing in the water right outside of the hotels. If you want to see this, this happens annually Jan - April. We saw a baby seal come out onto the sand and they were just as mesmerized with us as we were with them, hummingbirds drinking from our pool. Love nature so much! You can't beat it.

No wonder Cabo has become the playground to many stars including Jenifer Aniston who just celebrated her birthday there, Jessica Simpson and Rhianna, to just name a few.

It was a great place to be at for Valentine's day. Had dinner at their magical restaurant called El Farallon, which means a rock that comes out from the ocean. This is a photo of it. Wow!!!

So now we are back and we will be blogging as much as we can.

If you are looking for lots of beaches to swim in, Cabo may not be for you as the ocean is quite fierce and most of the beaches aren't recommended for swimming. Medano beach is really popular and is a safe swimming beach and so is Cerritos which is also great for surfing.

Cabo, we will miss you and will never forget you!

Inspirational Quote

From time to time, we will be sharing some inspirational quotes and will recommend great books to pick up. They won't necessarily be industry books but books that will enrich your life and help you grow as a person. I will try to do this at least once a week.

In order to be great at anything including performing, you must do a lot more than know how to perform. We hope that you will take something from this and please pass it on. This was passed on to me by my yoga teacher Linda Zelicki a while back and we want to share. The book was first recommended to me by Mandy Cheetham years ago. Thank you ladies for sharing this with me.

This inspiring quote by Marianne Williamson is from her book, A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles. It was also used by Nelson Mandela in his inaugural speech. He has been credited many times for this quote but it is Marianne's.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Update on The Summer in L.A. Performance Intensive

Just announced!

June 25 - July 2, 2010

The Summer in L.A. Performance Intensive will now be open to dancers 16 years old up to adults, including dance teachers worldwide. This program is by invite only.

Dancers over 18 and over 21 are strongly encourage to join us.
Dancers under 18, require parental permission to attend the experience and to be in Carnival. This is the ideal program for those who have had a successful time with previous Summer in L.A. programs. It's like Summer in L.A.II

If you are a previous Summer in L.A. or Broadway Bound dancer, Be Discovered may want you to attend this program. You will receive an invite from us before February 14, if you haven't already received one. If you have never attended one of our trips, you can audition for a spot to dance alongside the hottest Be Discovered dancers and other professionals.

We want to see you on that Carnival stage!

The brochure and more info will be available in the next few days.
Imagine going home after a week long intensive in Hollywood with this memory to last a lifetime: YOU on the Carnival stage in front of all of LA's dance lovers and professionals. Didn't the new decade just start like yesterday? Wow! January is done and it's already February. Not complaining as that means that spring is just around the corner and so is our Toronto March Break Dance Intensive and then our Summer in LA and other summer programs including the Vegas Convention.

Valentine's Day is just next week too. I miss those days when we were kids and you would give Valentine's cards to everyone you loved. It was all about love and we loved our families, our girl and boy friends, our teachers. It seemed everyone got a card. What happened? Why is it now just the day to love your significant other?

In Colombia, the country where I was born, Valentine's day is called the day of love and friendship and it's on September 20th.

On our Calendar, we have audition listings for dancers for Cirque Du Soleil's Vegas auditions, the AGO in Toronto and many more. For singers and musicians, there are a couple of free music seminars. For actors there is a theatre audition for Beauty and the Beast in Simcoe and for models, Paul Mitchell hair show needs some models.

This is a great month for opportunities for specialty talent, dancers, actors and models.

Summer in L.A. Axel Villamil will be dancing on Much Music today at 5 pm to kick off the premiere of ABDC5.

Axel has also attended our workshops that we had in St. Catharines with Gigi Torres and has just been invited to be a part of the new Summer in L.A The Performance Intensive.

Last summer, Axel attended the Winners department store auditions that we held and he was one of the favorites of the director.

NEW THIS YEAR!!! THE PERFORMANCE INTENSIVE & THE JUNIORS INTENSIVE

THE PERFORMANCE INTENSIVE
June 25 - July 2

This Summer in L.A. week allows dancers the opportunity to stage and be in a music video choreographed by JJ Villar and then perform it at LA's hottest dance show the Carnival Choreographer's Ball. Dancers will also work with fashion and wardrobe consultants to help get that right "performance" look for the video and the show as will also work with other top choreographers. Dancers will get a copy of the video/show performance to add to their demo reel.

This intensive is open to dancers who win a scholarship towards this intensive at upcoming competitions, dancers who are invited by Be Discovered or dancers who are selected from auditions. Auditions will be accepted electronically as well as DVD/VHS footage can be submitted to our office. This Summer in LA is recommended for dancers 18 yrs + however younger dancers who will benefit from this intensive will be accepted. Those dancers not selected due to age or other factors will be invited to attend another Summer in LA week that will be better suited to their age/dance style/level.

L.A's top agents, scouts and leading industry decision makers attend the Carnival. Performances are accepted by audition only so it is a great privilege for the dancers to get to perform a piece in this not to be missed dance extravaganza without submitting the piece for auditions. Due to the choreographers contacts, the dancers will automatically be in the show. Many stars frequent this show including Missy Elliot, Usher and all top choreographers in the world.

Choreographers who showcase their works at Carnival include Brian Friedman, Sonya Tayeh, Beat Freaks, Laurie Ann Gibson and Dave Scott, to just name a few.

THE JUNIORS INTENSIVE
July 5 - July 12

New this year!!! Due to popular demand we have created a Summer in L.A. for Juniors. Open to dancers 9 - 12 years old. Please note that a parent/guardian needs to attend Summer in L.A with their Junior dancer.

Junior dancers will train at top LA dance studios and will work privately as a group with the industry's hottest choreographers from So You Think You Can Dance, America's Best Dance Crew & Hannah Montana.

Junior dancers will dance at Disneyland where they will take master classes with top Disney choreographer, take part in a simulated audition in which the Show Director/Choreographer stops to critique your audition, and shows you how you can increase your odds of landing a job as a professional dancer. Once you're "cast," you will learn choreography from an actual Disney production, and along the way be shown the "tricks of the trade" that make performances sparkle. Dancers will get a taste of what it is like to be a professional Disney dancer as you see the results on video at the end of the session. There will also be a Q & A with the choreographer and performers.

To make your dance at Disney even better, you will perform at Disneyland. You will dance in a Parade on Main Street U.S.A. in front of all Disney guests. Before the parade, you will have a dress rehearsal. Once you sign up for Summer in L.A., you will receive a DVD with the routine for you to learn prior to the program. In L.A. you will rehearse as a group with the other Summer in LA dancers as you will dance together as a group in the parade.

Included is a 2-3 day Park Hopper Disneyland Resort Ticket that gets you into both parks during our Disney stay. Dancers will also get a commemorative Disney Performing Arts t-shirt, aDisney Guest Performer T-shirt, a Dance the Magic™ 8x10 Magazine Covergirl or Coverboy Photo, Dance the Magic Souvenir Pin, Special Dance the Magic gift and a Special Summer Dance Classic Parade Memory DVD.

Junior dancers will also network with industry leaders, be photographed by Pussy Cat Dolls photographer and much more. Fun outings include a sightseeing tour of L.A. hot spots including stars homes and the stars on Hollywood's Walk of Fame, shopping and sightseeing trips to Universal Studios Citywalk and the Hollywood & Highland Mall and much more.

Broadway Bound! The NYC Winter Intensive is a wrap!

Thank you to everyone who helped make it possible.

We had 14 dancers from Italy, Canada and the U.S and we had a great time!

New York was awesome.

The 2010 Summer in L.A. is just 6 months away.

This year we have a NEW Juniors Intensive for 9 - 12 year olds as well as the Performance Intensive for dancers wishing to be in a music video and perform in the Carnival Choreographer's Ball. In addition to those 2 new programs, we have the Dance Intensive and the Hip Hop Intensive.

Sad news in the dance world!

We are shocked to hear about Shane's Sparks arrest. Be Discovered would like to mention that for many years we have been working with Shane Sparks. We can't say that we "know him" as we worked with him as a choreographer and teacher. We were the 1st to have him here in Canada doing workshops and he was amazing.

It is a sad time for the dance world and right before the holidays. We are heart broken to see this all over the news and there is even a video of his arrest. How did the media know that this was going to happen?

Let's pray that this just isn't true and that the truth will come out, soon.

As with all the choreographers we work with, we needed a criminal check and we got a clean one and have always had a great working relationship with Shane.

We know him through Millennium in L.A. and having him teach our dancers during our programs in L.A. We even went bowling with him during one of the programs. All the dancers loved him and he loved to teach. In all our times working with him, we never saw him do anything inappropriate.

Parents need to rest assured that our programs are chaperoned and we never leave dancers alone with the choreographers. By us saying this, doesn't mean that we don't believe in Shane however our role as educators is to protect the dancers we work with and we want to be clear that our #1 concern are the kids and the dancers that we work with.

This is really sad. This is the 2nd choreographer this year to be charged. Earlier this year, Alex Da Silva, SYTYCD choreographer was also charged with rape.

Of course these are all allegations and everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty. We really hope that he is innocent and that this is just some sick person trying to bring someone successful down.

1. Kinetic Elements Casting Audition for Dancers

Kinetic Elements is looking for male and female dancers for the 2009/2010 season for upcoming shows. They must be professional, mature and able to rehearse on Sunday evenings. All dance backgrounds are welcome.

Kinetic Elements is a contemporary modern dance company committed to exploring modern dance and fusing it with other dance forms. To break down the barriers and create pieces for the community.

2. Jazz Art Soul & You Looking for Dancers

"Jazz, Art Soul and You!" looking for dancers. This charity event is being held on Sunday, October 25th @ Fairmont Royal York, downtown Toronto.

Its a huge charity event with reputable Canadian artists and celebrities. The choreographer for the event is Minerva Kris Mohabir.

She is looking for experienced dancers who can pick up advanced lyrical hip hop choreography.

It is not paid but for a worthy case and great networking for the dancers as there are a lot of Toronto artists performing.

First rehearsal will be on Saturday, October 17th and the remaining will be two- three times a week leading up to the event (tues, thurs and possibly friday evenings after 8pm).

3. The Dance Company Auditions

The Dance Company is currently seeking Female dancers ages 18+ for upcoming production. Dancers should be trained in Jazz dance, have excellent showmanship, and learn quickly.
Production date is November 14th, 2009. There will be a tech rehersal during the afternoon and showtime at 8pm. This is a paid event.

Looking for some actors that are used to cameras, crew and lights for a promo music video that someone we know is shooting : (age 19 +)

Nov 7th 930pm -1 am. need actors/dancers....who love dancing &/or music

These shoots are in Toronto and are in a concert setting.

Do you know anyone that would be interested in coming out to these concerts for comp ( up to 4 each ) tickets?

So You Think You Can Dance Canada has picked its top 10.

Congrats to all the dancers and break a leg!

Summer in L.A. dancer Amy Gardner is one of the finalists. In the photo from left to right, she is the 1st female dancer.

She had won a scholarship at a dance competition to attend our intensive back in 2006. It's great that she along with the other 9 selected dancers will be on the SYTYCDC tour.

The SYTYCDC Tour 2009 will showcase the most sizzling routines and mesmerizing performances of the season.

Up to now, we have used this blog more or less about Summer in LA and people or things associated with it. Even the header says just that, Summer in L.A.

We are in the works of updating the blog and this blog will now be all about Be Discovered. So it will continue to include Summer in LA, but it will also be about a lot of other industry news, auditions, views and more. We feel that at times it already is so we want to keep it consistent and professional.

It will also be geared not only towards dance and dancers but all the entertainment industry including modeling, acting, singing, performing and more.

We hope that you will like the changes that are currently in the works. We hope to launch the new blog look by late October.

Winners Dance Contest Winner

Winners have tallied their votes and the results are in. Aidan Shipley from Stratford, Ontario is officially their dance competition winner. Congratulations! Aidan has won $4000.00

Aidan received over 10 000 votes on the Winners Face Book page by Winners fans.

Aidan was cast by Be Discovered on the Winners 30 second TV spot and 3 minute Face book video back in June. The commercial and video was shot in July in Toronto.
Aidan is represented by Da Costa Talent who submitted him for the job.

Congratulations as well to the other dancers who booked this job: Janaye Upshaw, Taylor Belnavis and Katie Lee.

As mentioned in the previous Dancing with the Stars post, there is an Aaron Carter/Be Discovered connection.

Back in 2001, Be Discovered had a talent search with the newspaper The Hamilton Spectator. Dancers, actors, models and singers were scouted.

One of the dancers was Matt Carroll. Within weeks of being scouted, Diana Uribe, Be Discovered President and Talent Director Diana Uribe got Matt an audition for an Aaron Carter music video that was shooting in Toronto.

Matt's talent landed him on the Leave It Up To Me video from the Jimmy Neutron soundtrack. As a result of his working on this video, he was invited to dance at Michael Jackson's 30th anniversary concert at Madison Square Gardens. He danced on the same stage as Missy Elliott and even Michael Jackson himself.

The show was on September 10, 2001 - just 1 day before 9/11. This was an exciting time for us at Be Discovered but then the next day, it all turned around. We were so worried about Matt as he and the other dancers were in NY during this time. Thank God, all the dancers were safe.

Matt toured the world for a couple of years as one of Aaron's dancers after this show.

We hope that both Aaron and Mya go far this season as they both have had dance be a part of their career and have inspired a lot of dancers through Be Discovered

Dancing With The Stars

Tonight is the premiere of Dancing with the Stars! 3 night event!!!

This is the 1st time in history where there is so much dance everywhere. LOVE IT!

We have this new season of this show as well as America's Best Dance Crew and So You Think You Can Dance (both the American and the Canadian shows). In theatres later this week we have Fame!

Be Discovered has a few connections to the stars this season.

Mya & Aaron Carter.

This 1st post is about our experience with Mya, the next will be Aaron.

Summer in L.A. 2004

Diana Uribe, Be Discovered President and Talent Director was invited to sit in on one of Mya's concert rehearsal at Millennium Dance Complex by her choreographer Shotyme. Shotyme's credits include Black Eyed Peas, Gwen Stefani, Shakira and more.

Diana was thrilled for this experience but explained to the choreographer that she had a small group of dancers that would need to join her as they were all there together.

Shotyme spoke to Mya and she said that it would be totally cool for the Summer in LA dancers to all attend.

The dancers were excited yet nervous and were awe struck when they had the chance to meet Mya. Mya shook everyones hands and gave each dancer a candy. lol
Some of the dancers even kept the wrapper and still have it with their keepsakes.

She was very cool and sweet, very down to earth. She had fun during our photo ops with her. In the photo is Alex Saraiva, Mya and Shotyme.

The performances by both Mya and her dancers were amazing and Super Dave was one of her dancers along with Shotyme.

It was great to be in the same room with so many talented individuals. Very inspirational to our Summer in LA dancers.

Summer in L.A's "The Hip Hop Intensive" Rising Star

Congratulations to Hector Torres from Arizona who has been selected as the 2009 Summer in L.A. The Hip Hop Intensive Rising Star.

Hector had the chance to work with Shane Sparks in L.A. at Millennium as well as in Vegas at the Urban Moves workshop.

Hector also worked with JJ Villar in the private workshops in Hip Hop, Locking and Popping, Music Video Hip Hop and more. At all the classes and workshops, Hector showed a lot of potential and his personality shined. He pushed himself to the limits and was a pleasure to work with all week.

The boy group Skyline had a meet and greet with the dancers and we had an on the spot "mock" audition and Hector showed a lot of confidence and skill at this time as well.

Congratulations to Hector. We look forward to working with him again.

Summer in L.A. Dancer in the Top 12 of SYTYCDC

Natalie Lyons was eliminated from SYTYCDC. She is a great hip hop and krumper and has a lot of opportunities ahead of her after the show. Good job!

Amy Gardner who is still in the top 12 is a former Summer in L.A. dancer. We hope that she makes it next week as then she will be a part of the SYTYCDC tour.

Where did summer go? We hope that everyone had a great summer.

We did with our summer programs including the 2 new additions including Image is Everything! The Hollywood Make Over and The Vegas Convention. Summer in LA The Dance Intensive and Summer in LA The Hip Hop Intensive were awesome as well. Thank you to all who helped make these all a success.

Look forward to 2010 Summer in L.A. New weeks will be added that will give you the chance to appear in a music video as well as to perform at L.A's hottest show Carnival Choreographer's Ball.

2010 Summer in L.A. will also have a Juniors program for those younger up and coming dancers who have always wanted to do our program but were under 13.

The plan is to also be back in Vegas and make the convention more than 2 days and also add more of the Vegas scene to the program including some acro and other specialty skills. This year we were at Planet Hollywood and next year we will be at another hotel. Caesar's Palace contacted us about bringing the event to their hotel. We will keep you posted!

MTV/Much Music

Although Be Discovered is a progressive and modern company, we also like to share our views and thoughts on the industry in positive and inspiring ways. In the end it's up to each of us to make choices but it's good to see more than just 1 side all the time.

What is with MTV and Much Music?

Is there anything such as ethical advertising or is everything just done for the sake of making a buck?

The Michael Jackson tribute was amazing at the MTV awards! The rest of the show, although it can be called entertaining, was pretty odd. To us it was.

What does it say about our society when Jack Black can tell the world to hold hands and thank satan? Not funny, not artistic and just plain strange. Do not believe the hype. They send bad messages all in the sake of jokes and art etc. Could you ever see Michael Jackson on stage thanking the devil for an award? Never. He was always about love and light and God!

If you believe in God, a Goddess, a Higher Power or whatever that may be to you, you know that although there may not be a devil per say, you know that there is evil and bad out there. Why promote this? Why not promote the opposite.

AND although Lady Gaga can be called a great performer and artistic, again, it's just odd. I got the message especially since it's about Paparazzi but kids are out there watching this and as role models, there needs to be more in the industry other than pushing violence and darkness, sex and drugs.

Also, Beyonce needs to get a wardrobe consultation. There has to be more out there for her to wear other than a body suit or bathing suit. Once or twice ok if you must but it's just too much, or too little should we say. Cover up, we know you got it and you are beautiful and talented.

It's ok if you don't agree, but we needed to share.

FAME! The TV show that changed Diana Uribe's life forever. Diana is the president and talent director of Be Discovered Inc and Summer in L.A.

Diana was in grade school and this show along with Debbie Allen inspired her to dance, perform and to reach for her dreams.

Most young dancers may not know the show but most of their parents probably heard of it and many are fans.

We are glad that the movie is coming out on September 25. Can't wait!!!

SYTYCDC's Natalie Lyons and Shane Sparks

Be Discovered was the first to have Shane Sparks workshops in Canada. At the time, Shane was best known for his choreography on the hit dance movie You Got Served. The US version of So You Think You Can Dance was just getting started and Shane told dancers about it at our workshops. Can you believe that many dancers didn't even know who he was!

Natalie Lyons assisted Be Discovered at the workshops with Shane and now she is one of the top 16 dancers in Canada on the hit show So You Think You Can Dance. Bravo!!!

In the photo, Natalie is right beside Shane in the khaki hat and jacket.

During the workshops at the Elgin in downtown Toronto, Natalie also assisted Shane in teaching. They were both awesome!!!

Be Discovered had Shane in Ontario, not once but twice and Be Discovered works with Shane annually at Summer in L.A.

Good luck to the 16 dancers who will soon be 14. Who will be sent home? We hope that Natalie remains as she has been working very hard and deserves the chance to be Canada's favorite dancer.

Summer in L.A Dancer in the top 16 of So You Think You Can Dance Canada

So You Think You Can Dance Canada is underway and the top 16 have been announced.

Amy Gardner, one of the top 16 dancers was a Summer in L.A. dancer in 2006.

She experienced LA's professional dance world and trained with the industry's best including Shane Sparks, Misha Gabriel, Nick Bass, Kennis and Chopper, to just name a few.

The Summer in LA dancers that year worked privately with Shane Sparks, The Groovaloos "Shooz" and Beat Freaks Keeley Lock n' key.

Let's see if she will have to krump on SYTYCDC as she had a private krump workshop with Lil' Tommy of the movie Rize.

She also had the chance to work with Grover Dale and his team of professionals including Mickey Minden (Pussy Cat Dolls choreographer), Tony Testa (Janet Jackson choreographer) and many more.

She attended the taping of So You Think You Can Dance. She was there in the audience at the American version and now she is one of the dancers on stage in the Canadian series.

Dancers 2 Watch!

Answers4dancers has a new segment starting this month called Dancers2Watch!

Will Thomas, our Summer in L.A. Rising Star will be featured and today we just received word that another Summer in LA dancer, Victoria Wade from Washington has also been selected.

This was Victoria's 1st Summer in L.A. and will be joining us in December at our Broadway Bound! The NYC Winter Intensive.

Congratulations to these up and coming dancers who will be showcased on Dancers 2 Watch.

In the next few weeks as footage from the showcase is reviewed by the pro's, other dancers may be selected.

Summer in L.A's "The Dance Intensive" Rising Star..

Congratulations to Will Thomas from Michigan who is Be Discovered's 2009 Summer in L.A. Rising Star.

This is Will's 2nd Summer in L.A. in a row and he also did our Broadway Bound! The NYC Winter Intensive last year.

Will suffered an unfortunate concussion during Shane Sparks class but he didn't know so. He continued doing the program and even performed for the world's top dance agents. The agents loved him and many are interested in working with him.

Grover Dale selected Will to be featured on Answers4dancers "Dancers 2 Watch" after the reaction that the agents had when they saw him at the showcase.

The 2009 Summer in L.A. The Hip Hop Intensive has wrapped!!!

Thank you to all the dancers who helped make it a success.

Unfortunately, Crystal Porter was unable to join us as she was ill and Alia Sobrepena had to leave as soon as the program started as she had a family emergency. Both dancers were missed and we hope that all is better for you both.

10 dancers from the U.K, Canada and the U.S experienced L.A's professional dance world, trained with the industry's best and had the summer of a lifetime, hip hop style! This is the smallest Summer in LA program to date as Alex Saraiva was unable to attend as he does annually, we decided to cap the group at just 50% of the dancers that we normally take. It was a much more intimate and interactive experience for all the dancers.

Dancers worked with JJ Villar and had the chance to learn Hip Hop choreography from him but also learn about the industry, being professionals, how to audition, improv skills and much more.

Dancers met with US immigration attorney Kevin Levine and learned about what they need to be able to work in the U.S.

The dancers had the chance to work out at the Sheraton's state of the art gym which we hope motivates them to be able to do this regularly back at home.

A day was spent at Debbie Reynolds studio where they trained wih the industry's best in many dance styles other than Hip Hop.

Half the dancers took part in the photo shoot with photographer to the stars Lee Cherry. Keri Post, the 2009 SILA chaperone and assistant also was photographed and so was JJ Villar. Check out the photos at http://leecherry.com/bediscovered729/

The make up and hair stylist for the shoot was Sutan who was in town from NY. He is stylist on America's Next Top Model.

After the shoot was the professionally guided tour of L.A hotspots with our tour guide Dan the Man! The tour started going to Venice Beach, then Santa Monica Pier and then hitting the Hollywood Hills to see star homes and mansions. We then headed to Belair and Beverly Hills and stopped by at the home where Michael Jackson passed on. The dancers had a chance to see the memorial and take photos.

The tour continued down on Sunset Blvd where we saw the infamous Sunset Strip and then on to Hollywood for the Walk of Fame, the MJ star was the most popular. There was a shopping stop at the Hollywood Highland Mall and then we were dropped off at Millennium Dance Complex.

All the dancers took Shane Sparks class which they loved. Shane's classes are now only open to dancers 18 years and older but if you are with Be Discovered, then all the dancers regardless of their age have the chance to take his class. His class was followed by Jaffar's Hip Hop class. Jaffar is from ABDC.

Thursday was the taping of SYTYCD and the dancers had a great time. They got to see 2dancers eliminated as well as saw live performances by Sean Paul and the Jabbawockeez. The dancers were so pumped after this great experience.

Thursday night JJ Villar had his boy band Skyline drop by for a meet and greet, an industry chat and Q & A with the dancers. This was followed by an autograph signing session. The boys sang live for us and we also played some of their songs and had the dancers freestyle. The dancers will be considered for future gigs with this up and coming band.

JJ then taught another Hip Hop class and we also assessed the dancers during this session.

Friday was a full day of classes at The Edge and then an outing to Universal Studios Citywalk ended our L.A. portion of the Hip Hop Intensive.

On Saturday we were off to Vegas with a 2 hr stop in Primm at the Fashion Outlets. Everyone always love the shopping trips. These are the icing on the cake!

We checked in to Planet Hollywood on the Vegas Strip, had dinner at PF Changs and headed off to a warehouse for Popping and Locking classes with JJ Villar and one of the most fun classes of the Summer in LA programs, Music Video workshop.

In only half an hour, the dancers not only learned choreography, but were able to stage a music video produced, directed and shot by JJ. It looked so great and the dancers had an amazing time. They worked so hard even though it was 11 pm and it was super hot on a summer night in the desert.

Saturday were the Urban Moves workshops with Shane Sparks, Tony GoGo and Marty Kudelka. All 3 classes were very different but it's great that the dancers have the chance to do it all. If you can't, you are limiting yourself as a dancer for the industry.

Shane loves our group and kept calling out Be Discovered during the class so just our dancers were grouped as part of a "crew" and were able to perform the choreography in front of all in attendance at the workshops.

After dinner, we were off to the Orlens Arena in Vegas for the finals of the World Hip Hop Championships. The dancers had a great time at this show where the world's top dance crews competed for the title. JJ joined us at this event.

This concluded the Vegas portion of the Hip Hop Intensive and the full Summer in L.A. for 2009.

Some of the dancers headed back home on Monday August 3 while the others stayed to take part in our Vegas Convention.

Another year done and we are already working on dates for the 2010 Summer in L.A. Stay tuned for details!

Finals Days of the Dance Intensive

The Dance Intensive has wrapped up for another year.

The dancers had a great time at the Grover Dale 3 day workshop. They worked with many choreographers and professionals including Robert Schultz, Erin Lamont, Christian Vincent, Kevin Stea and many more.

They learned choreography that was then showcased to the world's top dance agents. The dancers excelled during the showcase and received some great tips and feedback from the professionals and agents.

All dancers will receive an assessment of their Summer in L.A. Dance Intensive that will provide valuable insight on their week and what to do to take dance to that next level.

On day 3 of the Grover workshop, the dancers had the chance to stage a pop song and shoot it and auditioned for producers including one for a new reality TV dance show.

They gained insight on how to get work in the industry.

As Grover's worskhop ended at 6 pm nightly, more dancing and fun followed.

On Friday night, JJ Villar had the chance to work with the dancers once again and had a lyrical class as well as another mock audition. The dancers were nervous but did quite well and received great audition tips and advice from both JJ and Be Discovered director Diana.

Misha Gabriel held a private group workshop in Hip Hop. It was great working with Misha and having an industry chat with him. Mish was one of the talented dancers who booked Michael Jackson's tour. He had the chance to rehearse with him for months so it was great to have him in to chat with the dancers.

Dancing went on nightly til about midnight. The dancers were troupers all week. This is what you need to be like to make it in the dance world.

Saturday after Grover's, the dancers went to Universal Studios Citywalk for some sightseeing and people watching as well as shopping.

On Sunday night, we had a wrap up of the Dance Intensive with JJ. In addition to more industry chats and advice, JJ had a music interpretation/choreography class and we reviewed the dancers photos from their professional shoot earlier on in the week.

Some dancers cried as the day was almost here that the program would be over. They said their good byes to some dancers who were leaving on their own overnight.

The final day, after breakfast, all said their good byes and went their own ways and we hope that what they found out about the industry but mainly about themselves during the week was life changing and inspirational.

Summer in L.A. The Dance Intensive Updates

Greetings from sunny California!

20 dancers from Canada and the U.S have been experiencing L.A's professional dance world and training with the industry's best. They have made friendships that will last a lifetime and working very hard and having the time of their life.

As soon as we have the chance, we will also blog about the Image is Everything! The Hollywood Make Over. This was the 1st program and we look forward to making this a part of our annual Summer in L.A.

Dancers have met many professionals including Kevin Levine, US immigration attorney who spoke to the dancers about being able to work legally in the U.S. They worked with JJ Villar, industry pro and learned about the industry, did some improv and were inspired and moved by this amazing choreographer. They worked on a street jazz audition class and we had mock auditions. Jordan Gibbins was "booked" by JJ for the mock job he was casting. This all happened the day that the program started.

Day 2 the dancers spent a full day taking class from many pro's at The Edge.

Day 3 was a lot of fun and it was the professional photo shoot with Lee Cherry and the tour of Hollywood. We went to the house where Michael Jackson died and took photos right outside as well as saw many of the stars homes, Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive, Belair including the Fresh Prince house, Sunset Blvd., Hollywood and much more.

After the photo shoot and tour we went to Millennium where the dancers had the chance to meet and work with Shane Sparks. They were really challenged in this class but they loved it.

Day 4 which was yesterday was a very special day and the dancers were just ecstatic. They were a part of the studio audience of So You Think You Can Dance. This was the 100th episode so it was a very special show. We also went to the Grove for lunch and for shopping and then after the show taping, the dancers met and worked with the Beat Freaks Lindsey B and Craig H and did a Contemporary Hip Hop class and then worked with JJ and took a Latin Jazz class. We are very proud of all the dancers as they are taking risks and doing classes that they would normally do back home.

We had industry chats, Q & A's and photo taking opportunities with the choreographers.

Today is day 5 and the dancers are working with Broadway veteran Grover Dale and his team of pro's.

Tomorrow is the agents showcase and at night we are off to Universal Studios Citywalk for some fun and shopping. On Sunday is the audition for the executive producer for a new reality dance TV show and more private workshops.

Can't believe that Monday is the last day of the Dance Intensive and the dancers will be heading back home! :-( 3 lucky dancers will stay with us and continue with the Hip Hop Intensive and then will also be off to Vegas for the Vegas Convention.

These opportunities are only possible with Be Discovered's Summer in L.A.

Summer in L.A. Just 1 week away

Wow, the time is almost here. On Friday July 17, 9 dancers from Canada and the U.S and 4 of their moms will be in L.A. taking part in the Image is Everything! The Hollywood Make Over.

In just 1 week, 20 dancers from Canada and the U.S will be taking part in Summer in L.A. The Dance Intensive.

As we are off to L.A in a couple of days, we will be blogging as much as we can during the programs but may not be able to as much as we'd like to.

In just 2 weeks, the Hip Hop Intensive will start. Updates on this, coming soon.

The commercials and videos shoot on July 14 and 15. We will keep you updated on when they are airing and are live online.
